Iranian President died in a Helicopter Crash : Report

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died in a helicopter crash on May 19, 2024, near the Azerbaijan border. The crash also resulted in the death of Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. The accident occurred under difficult conditions, and all bodies have been recovered from the crash site .

Raisi, who had served as Iran's president since 2021, was a significant figure in Iranian politics, often mentioned as a potential successor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. His death is expected to create a power vacuum and potentially intensify the competition among Iranian political factions .
